Fixed broadband markets: is there a link between levels of market concentration and connections growth?

This report is available to those subscribed to the Fixed, TV and Convergence module.
The global fixed broadband market has experienced major changes in recent years, including shifts in the technology access mix towards next-generation networks such as fibre, the entry of new players and M&A transactions. We conducted an analysis of how the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) – a measure of market concentration – has changed over the last decade. We also analysed the correlation between changes in HHI and fixed broadband connections growth.
