Head of GSMA Intelligence
Peter leads the GSMA Intelligence analyst team, driving its content strategy and agenda. Working across the GSMA membership and broader mobile ecosystem, Peter is responsible for developing insights into the intelligence products required by the market and the best ways to deliver them. In the near term, this means driving the rollout of new data sets and research on topics ranging from 5G and IoT, to Consumer Demand trends and multi-pay (fixed broadband, pay TV).
Tim Hatt
Head of Research and Consulting
In this capacity, Tim has responsibility for consulting work across a range of topics and clients in the TMT sectors along with published research reports. In an ever changing industry, this means that change is the only constant. Aside from writing and editing, he is a regular presenter at conferences, public speaking engagements and in the media. Prior to this he was a European telecoms analyst at Enders Analysis. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science from Queens University in Canada, is a Chartered Manager from the Chartered Management Institute, and a Level 3 candidate in the CFA program.
Pablo Iacopino
Head of Research and Commercial Content
Pablo leads the Commercial Research practice at GSMA Intelligence. He drives the research agenda and themes, overseeing content production for a range of topics such as 5G and network transformation, telecoms and media convergence, new telco technologies, IoT and enterprise opportunities, spectrum, and the future of the digital consumer. Some of his recent research publications delved into operator revenue and services diversification beyond connectivity, eSIM, 5G investment and opportunities, B2B strategies, and Edge Computing. Pablo is a regular speaker at industry conferences and events, with more than 35 presentations and panels per year. He has more than 15 years of experience in the telecoms sector in different roles, including industry research, equity research, and investor relations.
Radhika Gupta
Head of Data Acquisition
Radhika joined the GSMA in 2013 and successfully built the Indian operations of GSMA Intelligence. As Head of Data Acquisition, she is responsible for the GSMA Intelligence data products and leads all activities of our team based in New Delhi. From planning, scoping, and executing multiple data-driven research projects to defining the performance measures of the team, she leads the end-to-end delivery of our data products. Radhika strongly believes in our two core data quality values of accuracy and completeness. She ensures with her team that every data point on GSMA Intelligence meets our rigorous data quality standards. The data and insights provided by Radhika’s team help drive the strategic decision-making of multiple stakeholders including internal teams, GSMA members, and GSMA Intelligence clients.
Pau Castells
Head of Economic Analysis
Pau leads the economic research department of GSMA Intelligence. He is responsible for the publication of high-profile economic research on telecommunications and digital infrastructure and services, playing an active role in setting the economic position and rationale for the mobile industry across key industry topics. Before joining the GSMA, Pau worked as an economist in the financial sector and several UK government departments, specialising in the economic analysis of public policy and regulation in the energy, ICT, and digital sectors. Aside from economic research, he makes regular public speaking engagements with the media. Pau holds a Ph. D. in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Matthew Iji
Director of Forecasting & Modelling
Matthew leads forecasting and modelling at GSMA Intelligence covering topics including Mobile, Fixed & TV, IoT & Enterprise, and consumer. He is responsible for more than 50 million metrics on the platform as well as data across the research reports. Alongside this, Matthew produces commissioned industry forecasts, recent topics include VoLTE and Adult Mobile Usage. With a particular focus on 5G, Matthew is a regular contributor to the GSMA Intelligence research agenda and leads several regular reports including the 5G in Context publication. Matthew has more than 13 years’ experience in the communications industry, prior to joining GSMA Intelligence, he worked for EE in the UK. Mathew holds a Bachelors degree in Applied Statistics from the University of Plymouth, UK
Kenechi Okeleke
Director, Regional, Social and Policy Research
Kenechi leads the delivery of GSMA Intelligence’s regional, social and policy research products, including the Mobile Economy, Digital Societies and Region in Focus report series. He has been a telecoms and IT industry analyst for more than 12 years, leading research across a wide range of topics, including tech innovation, 5G, AI, IoT and big data. Kenechi speaks regularly at industry events and provides media commentary on key issues within the telecoms and IT ecosystem. Kenechi joined the GSMA in 2014. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Benin and a Masters in International Business (with Distinction) from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business.
Kalvin Bahia
Principal Economist
As Principal Economist in GSMA Intelligence, Kalvin is responsible for delivering economic analysis on a range of topics, including spectrum policy, regulation, and competition. Recent work includes analysing the impact of market structure and competition on consumers in the mobile market and assessing the economic impact of spectrum policies in the 6GHz band. As part of his role, Kalvin regularly works with external organisations and presents at telecoms and academic conferences. Before joining the GSMA, Kalvin worked at OFCOM and the UK Competition Commission
Christina Patsioura
Lead Analyst, IoT & Enterprise
Christina is the Lead Analyst for IoT and Enterprise. She produces focused reports on IoT & Enterprise in areas pertaining to mobile networks and technologies for the digital transformation of vertical industries such as IoT, AI, cloud, and private networks. In the past, Christina has worked in IoT market research and analysis, and technical commercial due diligence in the UK and in Germany. Just before she re-joined GSMA Intelligence, she was working as a Technology Foresight Manager supporting Open Innovation work, in the R&D of British American Tobacco. Christina holds a Bachelor in Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
Anshu Goel
Lead Analyst, Digital Consumer
As the research lead for fixed broadband, TV, and convergence, Anshu is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering a pipeline of research covering the fixed, video, and content markets worldwide. Anshu’s work draws on the actions, strategies, and results of key firms in the telecoms, media, and technology sectors and provides a forward-looking view of the market and competitive implications as well as disruptive trends. Anshu previously worked as a telecoms analyst in an independent research house. His qualifications include MSc in Information Systems, from London School of Economics.
Cesar Bachelet
Lead Analyst, Fixed Broadband, TV and Convergence
As the Lead Analyst for fixed broadband, TV and convergence, Cesar is responsible for developing, managing and delivering a pipeline of research covering the fixed, video and content markets worldwide. Cesar’s work draws on the actions, strategies and results of key players in the telecoms, media and technology sector and provides a forward-looking view of the market and competitive implications, as well as disruptive trends. Cesar has been in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years, of which more than 20 were spent as an analyst for operators (BT and Vodafone) and industry analyst firms, including Omdia and Analysys Mason.
Emanuel Kolta
Lead Analyst, Network Sustainability and Innovation
Emanuel provides research and market analysis on 5G, network innovation, green transformation, and sustainability. Emanuel also helps identify economic benefits for mobile networks, specifically innovations that unlock emerging business opportunities and improve operator efficiency. Prior to joining GSMA Intelligence, Emanuel was a management consultant and held various analyst roles in telecommunications.
Sayali Borole
Senior Analyst, Regional, Social and Policy Research
Sayali is the Senior Analyst delivering on the regional, social, and policy research products of GSMA Intelligence. She is working on using technology for good, focusing on broader technological innovations like IoT, 5G network adoption, mobile money, and APIs. She has worked as a development professional focusing on areas like using frontier technologies in sustainability and development, improving urban governance, and evidence-based policymaking in her past role. She has worked with governments, multi-lateral organisations, and the private sector on the strategic design of digital transition journeys. Sayali holds her second master’s degree in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and her first master’s is in Urban and Regional Planning.
James Joiner
Senior Analyst, Network Strategy
James is a Senior Analyst covering mobile operators and networks at GSMA Intelligence. He is responsible for producing regional and country analysis, as well as topic deep dives and forward-looking pieces. Some of his recent publications have delved into topics such as 5G investment and opportunities, network transformation and sustainability. James has more than eight years of experience in the telecoms industry. Prior to joining GSMA Intelligence, he worked in the strategy team at Vodafone and as an analyst at research firm IHS Markit. Julie leads forecasting of mobile connections, subscribers, network technology migration and the GSMA Intelligence unique subscriber forecasts. She is also a regional specialist on Africa and Latin America, with interests in FinTech, 5G, and next-generation technology.
Jakub Zagdanski
Senior Economist
Jakub provides economic analysis on themes related to mobile connectivity, including estimates of the economic, environmental, and social impacts of mobile connectivity, forecasting of demand and supply, and cost-benefit scenario analysis. His other areas of economic expertise include innovation-related themes: robotics, digital trade, and R&D. His primary areas of expertise are quantitative methods, such as economic modelling, econometrics, and big data analytics.

Ankit has been working with GSMA Intelligence since 2013 and oversees the analyst team responsible for data on diverse metrics of the core mobile and broader telecom ecosystem. He is responsible for managing and delivering a pipeline of data-driven offerings. Facundo is a specialist in financial modeling, strategic business planning, spectrum valuation and assignment, with expertise in impact assessment studies on new regulatory initiatives, comparative legislation projects, and the implementation of international best practices. Before joining GSMA Intelligence, Facundo worked as an ICT expert for more than 10 years, providing his support to the public sector, non-governmental organizations and consulting firms. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (Argentina) and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Universidad de San Andrés (Argentina).

Economist
As Economist in GSMA Intelligence, Harry provides economic expertise on the impacts of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on the economy, with focus on their contribution to development and well-being. His analysis also covers the evolving mobile ecosystem, including mobile technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT.) His core expertise is in applied economics and the use of quantitative methods, such as econometrics, machine learning, and geospatial analysis. Harry holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Bristol, UK.

Asraa is responsible for forecasting key metrics including connections, financials, technology migration, and smartphone adoption trends at the operator and market levels. Her main region of focus is Europe and MENA. Asraa previously worked for Zain as a Performance analyst.
Nikko Tolentino
Forecast Analyst
Nikko is a forecast analyst covering core mobile, IoT and financial forecasts. His interests are primarily in the advancements of 5G and mobile payments, as well as sustainability in the mobile sector. Prior to working in GSMA Intelligence, Nikko worked as a purchasing planner in the supply chain industry, Nikko holds a Bachelors in Management, as well as an MBA from the University of Gloucestershire.

As an Economist in GSMA Intelligence, Francisco is responsible for delivering economic analysis in spectrum policy, regulation, competition, and public policy evaluation. Before joining GSMA Intelligence, Francisco worked as a Senior Analyst of External and Regulatory Affairs at DIRECTV Colombia. He holds an MSc in Specialised Economic Analysis- Competition and Market regulation- from the Barcelona School of Economics and graduated from Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia) with Bachelors degrees in Economics, and Government and Public Affairs.
